NZ Funds was founded in 1988. It was originally formed as a joint venture between LD Nathan & Co and ipac, a leading Australian investment advisory firm.

Over time the current executive shareholders have progressively acquired the stakes of the two original joint venture partners. LD Nathan & Co's stake was acquired in 1992, with ipac's stake subsequently acquired in 2000.

NZ Funds is now wholly owned by its senior management. We are New Zealanders and we remain fully independent. Many of our shareholders, which we refer to as Principals, have been with the firm for more than a decade. The breadth, tenure and experience of the Principals of NZ Funds is without peer in New Zealand.

Our business is based on a spirit of partnership between clients, their financial adviser and NZ Funds as the Portfolio manager. Our objective is for clients to have the capital they need, when they need it, to fund their lifestyle and retirement objectives.

Our clients are New Zealanders. They are New Zealanders who have worked hard during their lives and have accumulated retirement capital. They are seeking to preserve, build on and manage that wealth as they approach, and enjoy their retirement.
