Biography
David started working alongside the investment team at NZ Funds in 1994 while he was directing the research efforts of IPAC New Zealand (now called Fundsource).

David was appointed as CIO of NZ Funds in 1997 and over the past few years he has changed his focus to work on a variety of NZ Funds’ strategic initiatives.

Prior to IPAC, David worked in a number of investment analysis and portfolio management roles in stock broking and asset management including a 3 year stint in London.

Approach
Having worked as an investment professional through several investment cycles over the last 25 years and having seen extremes of fear and greed on numerous occasions there is nothing surer than the need for each investor to have a well thought through set of investing rules which are then applied in a disciplined manner.

Investing geniuses are few and far between – for the rest of us normal beings it is working out what level of risk we are comfortable with, what processes improve the odds of investment success and continuing to enhance ones capabilities - sometimes through ones own mistakes, sometimes through the insights of colleagues.
