Biography
Glenn joined NZ Funds in 1989 when the firm commenced business originally as a joint venture between Lion Nathan and IPAC. This coincided with the early development of the financial advisory industry.
Glenn has met with advisers, clients, referral firms and regulators throughout the country over the last two decades. This interaction has traversed business planning, advice methodologies and investment portfolios.
Similarly, his roles at NZ Funds have included a range of different functions, from Marketing and Communications to Legal and IT.
Approach
The Advisory Industry is now at another point of change, having moved from being totally unregulated in the late 1980s, to imminent registration for all advisers.
This coincides with another period of asset market volatility, which provides a challenge for advisers as they counsel existing clients, prepare for an environment which will be more closely supervised.... and find new clients.
As a principal of NZ Funds, I am able to draw on our collective experience since 1989 and pass on to advisers how we have steadily built our business to not only withstand these periodic points of change and volatility, but to grow through them.
Our transition at NZ Funds from a traditional fund manager to a portfolio manager, the introduction of a more understandable behaviourally based advice process, the systematic development of initiatives to develop new clients, and the long established use of practice manuals and a compliance committee, provides a lead that advisers may follow to prosper in this new environment.
