Biography

Lisa joined NZ Funds Management in 1997. She currently holds the roles of Executive Director and General Counsel. As General Counsel, she leads NZ Funds Management’s legal and tax business unit in providing legal and tax direction for the business.

Previous roles at NZ Funds Management have included, working in the funds management and corporate business units, as well as holding a special projects role for a period of time. During her time at NZ Funds Management she has managed projects which have spanned all business units within the firm. This has enabled her to gain an extensive knowledge of the inner workings of NZ Funds Management and the philosophy by which the business is driven.

Prior to joining NZ Funds Management, she spent six years specialising in tax in one of the top tier accounting firms in New Zealand, which included time in Australia on the firm’s international tax desk.

Innovation is a key driver of NZ Funds Management. We have and continue to apply innovation in building advisory and financial solutions for our clients. These solutions recognise the different financial phases in a client’s lifetime: that of the accumulation of wealth and then the need for reliable inflation adjusted income in retirement.

The requirement for appropriate solutions to enable New Zealanders to save for, and manage their wealth in, retirement is increasingly more pressing as the New Zealand population continues to age.

I believe innovation is inspired by a team of capable individuals using their unique strengths to work co-operatively towards a common goal.

As part of this team, my role is to bring a legal aspect to the innovation process, combining my technical skills with the knowledge of NZ Funds Management’s business gained through my years in the organisation, to produce an outcome that aligns the goals of our investors and our business, and meets our legal requirements.
