Ernst & Young audit the financial statements for the Portfolios.  Additionally, their role includes auditing the register of investors annually and the summary financial statements for the Portfolios which are included in the prospectus.

Our internal legal team consists of three qualified solicitors.  Our primary legal obligations centre around offering units to the public and the various requirements in the Securities Act 1978, the Securities Regulations 2009, the Financial Reporting Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1996 and other legislation.

Our internal tax team was involved with both IRD Policy Advice Division and the New Zealand Treasury in the taxation reform which led to the introduction of the Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) tax regime.

We have co-authored with KPMG a booklet which explains the PIE tax regime and the other taxation reforms to savings and investment tax which were introduced in 2007.  This booklet has become a well regarded guide on the topic.
